Following a 20 yrs. career in the role of a Provincial Correction’s Officer, Angela completed her Diploma in Massage Therapy at the Ontario College of Health and Technology (OCHT) in Stoney Creek, Ontario, in 2022.
While practicing her new skills on members of the general public in the student clinic of OCHT, Angela quickly developed a reputation of applying “just the right amount of pressure” amongst her patients, it made no difference whether they were seeing her for a “relaxation massage” or for a more “injury specific/ deep tissue” treatment, Angela was able to quickly adapt her skills to suite each individual’s preference, often being referred to as an “Angel” or possessing “magic hands”.
Since her graduation in 2022, Angela has maintained a full-time schedule in Massage Therapy and has continued her education in the profession with certificate completions in Scar Tissue Release, and Cupping for Soft tissue release, she self directs herself in studies specific to fascial tissue, its physical paths within the body and its effect on muscular and postural imbalances which ultimately lead to a decrease in mobility and an increased risk of injury.
Her treatment style has varied slightly since her beginning days in the profession, focusing more on the human body as a whole when it comes to her patients and their physical complaints, while ensuring to educate her patients prior to and during the duration of her treatments, Angela has brought a more unique massage experience into her treatment room by adding focus onto the front body including abdominal massage with consent of her clients to fully address their complaints and introducing some activity during treatment on the patients part to offer them a complete 360 degree total body care treatment with active movement to encourage an increased pain free range of motion.
Her life experiences from childhood and throughout her previous career have lead Angela to live a positive and judgement free view of life, enabling her to empathize and connect with her clients on a personal level, lending them compassion and understanding throughout the treatment process and, for some of the “lucky ones”, some comedic relief ending in laughs, smiles and an overall feeling of decreased stress in life and the body for all who choose to be treated by her.
Angela, takes her commitments in life and profession very seriously and considers it an honour to be considered by all her clients as an aid to their healing process of what she considers to be a very complex and intricate network of not only sore/tight muscles, fascial tissue and nerve pathways and their endings but includes the emotions and the psyche of each individual during her treatments.
All who enter Angela’s treatment room for the first time, will enter as a stranger but do leave feeling like a friend, from the everyday amateur athlete to the more developed professional, all who seek Angela out for therapeutic massage treatments leave feeling rejuvenated, relieved, “lighter” and with confidence in their treatment plan should there be a need for one.
